Product Design at Worldremit
WorldRemit is an online money transfer service with a global community. It helps users send money to friends and family securely, and with a fraction of the fees of traditional vendors. During my time there, I worked on many exciting projects across web and app to improve our customer experience and grow our user base. I also led an exciting rebrand initiative.
Country Landing Pages | UX & UI
The existing WorldRemit landing pages were experiencing high bounce rate and low calculator interactions because of the dated page structure, visuals and decision fatigue. I picked up this design project in 2017, with a focus on building and testing an improved user experience, creating elegant visual design and interaction for the new pages, and solving additional UX/UI problems that arose during implementation.
Transaction Flows | UX & UI
The WorldRemit transaction flows lived on an outdated application called “Send App.” An early relic of the company, it presented issues with security, user experience and scalability as the company continued to grow. Working in a lean and agile mindset, I worked to meet the primary goal of switching platforms, while also creating an improved user experience with a clean, modern interface.
New App Onboarding | UX & UI
As part of my work on the Acquisition feature team, I worked on the onboarding experience for new users in the app. Originally started as a project to optimise the existing flow, I realised early on that there were bigger opportunities to better serve and target new users.
WorldRemit Rebrand
One of the things that drew me to WorldRemit was the ability to influence the visual direction of the product and brand. I was lucky enough to lead the design of the company rebrand from the product side, which provided an insightful and successful approach for both our internal workings and our customers.
Transfer Status | UI
To better serve our users and reduce contacts to our customer service team, I worked creating the visuals and journeys of transfer statuses on web and mobile, as a fast follow to the statuses that already existed on the app.
Payments | UI
As a global company, WorldRemit works with many third party payment providers to complete transactions. We were seeing drop off from customers on the payment page due to the lack of design consistency on this page. I took over this project from a previous designer to complete web and app payment page designs that retain the look and feel of our website.
